Mr. Medereau’s garage door wouldn’t lift all the way. When he tried to open it, it rose slowly and came to a gradual stop just a couple of feet up.
The customer’s description made us suspect an opener problem. When we arrived and had a look, that turned out not to be the case at all. One of his extension springs was broken, and the opener just wasn’t getting the assistance it needed to raise the door the rest of the way. We locked the door securely in place and disconnected the opener before getting to work on spring replacement. We brought a supply or replacement springs in all different sizes with us, just in case, so we were able to do the job right then and there.
